My Work

I approach therapy with the belief that everybody has an inner strength and capacity to grow. I simply work to highlight and reflect the resilience in my clients. I prioritize a non-hierarchical relationship in the therapy room built on seeing my clients as equals. My approach to therapy is to go deep! Similarly to setting a bone, deep healing can sometimes be painful! This is why I aim to offer all my clients a nurturing and supportive environment to heal through all the painful parts of growth.

My Belief

I believe good therapy is challenging, and still you are strong! The process of therapy is an inherently vulnerable one. We all learn to adapt within a stressful and trying society. The core of good therapy lies in exploring the parts of our heart and soul that we harden to protect ourselves. I think good therapy is working in lock-step to explore the depth of one’s experiences while also building resiliency and coping skills. I say this to also acknowledge this takes time! I strive to be a patient and nurturing therapist who also helps keep you square down on the path of healing.

My Background

I graduated from Portland State University’s Counseling Program with a focus in Marriage, Family, and Couple’s counseling in 2022. I am currently close to full licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I largely come from a therapeutic background that aims to study how humans’ relationships and families impact their wellbeing and mental health. I previously graduated from Portland State in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Sociology, where I then went on to work with young adults experiencing homelessness in the streets of Portland. I have been practicing for over 3 years as a Counselor Associate (MC61339503) and have engaged in continued education in Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, complex families, and inherited trauma.

My Self

am passionate about my work because I have lived through many of the issues my clients bring into the therapy room. While I don’t live the lives of my clients, I share this because I come at therapy from having had a seat on the struggle bus for more than a couple years of my life! I approach therapy from the goal of doing better than the therapists I had who largely failed me (and many of my clients!) during trying times. I am a proud transgеndеr woman who has spent well over a decade within the larger quееr community in some shape or form. I was also diagnosed with ADHD from a considerably young age. I believe these identities and experiences shape my approach to therapy, as they have been huge influences on my journey of healing in my own life.
