My Work

I approach counseling with a strong emphasis on empathy, compassion, curiosity, and humility, which I integrate into my therapeutic style. My approach is primarily relational and integrative, recognizing the uniqueness of each client’s needs. I draw inspiration from various theoretical orientations, including existential, attachment, narrative, mindfulness, somatic, and systems-based perspectives like Internal Family Systems, ecological, and family systems.I am dedicated to understanding and acknowledging privilege, power, and oppression by utilizing trauma-informed, multicultural, and social justice perspectives. As a Palestinian, chronically ill, non-binary, queer individual, I am committed to exploring how our authentic identities manifest in the counseling space. Additionally, I embrace and affirm diverse expressions of sexuality and relationships, being sex-positive, polyamorous, and kink-affirming.My focus is on creating a comprehensive and inclusive counseling environment where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. By incorporating these values and principles into my practice, I aim to foster growth, self-discovery, and empowerment in those I work with.

My Belief

Life is a dynamic journey encompassing a range of emotions – from wild and joyous to frustrating and confounding. In my professional belief, humans are naturally drawn to seek connections with others to gain a deeper understanding of themselves as individuals with complex life experiences, and as members of interconnected relationships and communities. During this journey, there are occasions when additional support becomes crucial for personal growth and well-being.

My Background

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (MC61461416) and received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I received my undergraduate degree in Dance from CalArts with a minor in social sciences. Out of school I toured internationally and started to make my own work. Through these experiences, I learned the importance of collaboration in the creative process. I also discovered the value of liminal space, which allows for processing the complexity of different experiences. Driven by curiosity, I pursued further education at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, where I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology. During my Master’s program and internship, I had the privilege of collaborating with clients to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves.

My Self

As someone that embodies a multitude of identities, I understand the experience of longing for connection and searching for a sense of belonging. I am a Palestinian, non-binary, queer individual living through uncertain times. In my own work as a client, I am continuously learning to embrace the difference parts of myself and letting them coexist. I hope that in our space we can work together to foster connection and a sense of belonging by defining for ourselves what safety and trust can mean.
